Happy Spring!


It has been a wonderful week in the classroom reuniting with all of our friends! This week we began talking about the season of Spring. It may have been a short week but we have managed to squeeze in many Spring related fun learning activities with our friends. 
 
 Take a look at what we have been up to this week...

Our dramatic play center has been transformed into a Supermarket where the children can take on various roles of customer, cashier, baker, manager, etc...
 

 We had fun exploring how we could paint with flowers in the art center!

 


We used different shapes to create Spring pictures! Can you guess what these friends may be creating?



And we enjoyed the nice warm weather while playing outside!


April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month
Frankie Lemmon is showing our support by planting a pinwheel garden. 
When pinwheels shine in the sun they represent the bright future all children deserve!
 


As the weather continues to warm up, please send in a weather appropriate change of clothes (shorts, shirts, underwear, socks, and shoes). We will send the Winter clothes back home once we have received the warm weather clothes.

Sports/Balls

Sports/Balls This week we began talking about different types of sports and balls and have had a full week of  exploring and learning through activities and play! Blocks In the block center, the children using the blocks in the center and constructed various types of ramps to race different balls on. The friends investigated how different heights and textures can effect how fast or slow the ball will travel down the ramp.  Dramatic Play The dramatic play center was transformed into a Sports Shop where the children engaged in various roles of play as employee and customer. I think most of the friends liked to be the customer so that they could try many of the sports equipment and balls out before buying!  Table Toys  In table toys this week, the children were encouraged to match, create and/or extend patterns using various types of sports balls. Weather

 Weather!  This week in the Banana's class we learned all about the weather! Take a look at the fun we have had!   Literacy Center     This week in the literacy center, we completed an activity where we matched two rhyming words together to create a rhyming words tornado. Our friends have become so good at identifying rhyming words! Math/Table Toys    In the math center we created sunshine patterns. The friends used orange and yellow pipe cleaners to match and/or create their own pattern of sunshine rays.   Science Center         In the science center we experimented with things that the wind might blow. We found our own space in the classroom, used a straw to create the wind, and used items from the science center to see if the wind would blow them or not. Summer Week 2

 Hello Banana's Families, It is hard to believe this is our last blog post for the school year! We have had so much fun getting to know your child throughout this school year and have loved watching them grow and learn! We also want to thank you all so much for all of the patience, grace, and flexibility you all have shown throughout this school year. It has not been an easy school year but you all have made a great team to be a part of! We will miss you all next year and wish your family all the best as you begin a new school year!
