Banana's Class

 Weather!  This week in the Banana's class we learned all about the weather! Take a look at the fun we have had!   Literacy Center     This week in the literacy center, we completed an activity where we matched two rhyming words together to create a rhyming words tornado. Our friends have become so good at identifying rhyming words! Math/Table Toys    In the math center we created sunshine patterns. The friends used orange and yellow pipe cleaners to match and/or create their own pattern of sunshine rays.   Science Center         In the science center we experimented with things that the wind might blow. We found our own space in the classroom, used a straw to create the wind, and used items from the science center to see if the wind would blow them or not. Flowers and Plants!     It has been a busy week in the Banana's class exploring and learning all about flowers and plants! Take a look at everything we have been up to! We started our week off by planting some grass seeds in soil and have learned the importance of water and sunlight for the grass to be able to grow. The friends have enjoyed checking on their grass each day to see if they notice any changes or anything growing! In the dramatic play center, we continue to have fun engaging in play in our Supermarket. We have really enjoyed playing with the Flower shop that was added this week. The friends have learned all about making bouquets and flowers and have shared so many arrangements with their friends and teachers this week! The friends explored play in the block center by finding creative ways to build with their flowers.   Hello Banana's! We have had a busy week in the Banana's class celebrating the NAEYC Week of the Young Child and learned all about foods that are healthy for us and make our bodies feel good!  We celebrated the NAEYC Week of the Young Child in a unique and special way each day!  Music Monday: We celebrated with an afternoon dance party using instruments around the classroom and listening to some of our favorite tunes.  Tasty Tuesday: we celebrated with a sweet Popsicle and tasty treat for our friends to take home. Artsy Wednesday: the friends took home a bird house to decorate with their families. We hope you all had a blast decorating your bird houses! Work Together Thursday: We planted some beautiful flowers together in our sensory garden. This activity has us so excited to begin learning about plants and flowers next week! It has been a wonderful week in the classroom reuniting with all of our friends! This week we began talking about the season of Spring. It may have been a short week but we have managed to squeeze in many Spring related fun learning activities with our friends.     Take a look at what we have been up to this week... Our dramatic play center has been transformed into a Supermarket where the children can take on various roles of customer, cashier, baker, manager, etc...    We had fun exploring how we could paint with flowers in the art center!   We used different shapes to create Spring pictures!
